Can Nentia is a XIX Century rural tourism house located in the village of Fonteta (Girona), only two kilometres from la Bisbal d'Empordà, the capital of Baix Empordà.
We have restored our rural tourism home with great care. Joan, who is an excellent builder, has had the pleasure of restoring the home of his ancestors and has handled the construction details and management of the construction works with utmost respect, keeping the wellbeing of the visitors who would later enjoy it in mind. Cati was fully collaborative and saw to the restoration of the furniture and decoration. We have brought back the typical warmth of sunny Catalan homes, with Catalan vault or beamed ceilings, stone or whitewash painted walls like those from the past; old and antique furniture, recovered and restored to create the sensation of life in the past without foregoing the comforts to which we are all accustomed today. This was the home of simple, plain and down to earth farmers who lived without luxuries, and our intention was not to change it, making it fit for families with children.
The rural tourism house Can Nentia is rented as a whole to a single group without the need to be shared, giving you the freedom you require to feel perfectly at home for a few days and to be surrounded by the warmth of old country homes.
In the neighbouring cheese shop of Fonteta you can find homemade curds, cheeses and other products from area craftsmen, such as jams, honey and cold meats, etc.
You will also be offered seasonal fruits and vegetables from our own garden.
We also recommend that you visit Jordi Eloi´s ceramic workshop to watch him work and be entranced by some of his unique designs and with a bit of time, he even accepts orders and will make whatever you wish.
